So I woke up this morning exactly how I expected to, very sore from the last two killer workouts. I got to sleep in a little bit today but not too much since I was jolted out of bed by the work on call phone going off just before 8 AM so I could have gotten a few more minutes of sleep but no such luck. Anyways, I woke up and had breakfast with the family, which is something I don't get to do all that often, then I got to call the client that bothered me first thing Saturday morning (two in a row by the way) and got to spend some time with my daughter watching her learn to write while my super wife got the workouts from her second round of 10-Minute Trainer done. She got awesome results her first time through it in just 28 days so decided to go ahead and go another round of it, I am super proud of her. While she was working out I made myself an awesome Shakeology snack, I used the chocolate Shakeology and mixed it with cinnamon and a little bit of vanilla extract. It ended up being really good and I am probably going to have it like that again tomorrow. I have decided that if I make it my mid morning snack rather than my afternoon snack I don't have to worry about Haley sleeping and running the blender so I am going to do that on the weekends now. Anyway when Whitney was done working out it was my turn, except my day was not a workout it was X Stretch and the timing could not have been better, like I said I woke up super sore and as I was going through the DVD I made sure to really focus on lengthening the muscles during the stretch and it paid off, by the time I was done with the workout I felt great and almost all the soreness was gone. As a matter of fact it has not even come back, some Saturdays when I am done stretching the soreness comes back as the day progresses but that was not the case today so that made me happy. I was supposed to do Abs after the stretch but I didn't want to miss any more time with the family so I decided to do it tomorrow when I am finished with Back and Biceps. It is one of the shorter workouts so I should have the extra time for abs when it is done. Worst case I can always save about 7 minutes and do the 10-Minute Trainer ab workout if I need to, but regardless the abs will be getting a workout tomorrow. I am going to really focus on the pull ups and getting more reps on the exercises tomorrow since it is my last back and biceps and I want to finish on a high note, come back tomorrow and see how it goes.
One last thing, If you have ever wanted to try a beachbody program now is the time to do it, Until the end of July they are running a 30 day trial package of your choice of three programs, VIP membership to club beachbody for 30 days, and a bag of Shakeology all for $14.95. Crazy busy couple of days
So it was a few crazy busy days yesterday and today but now they are done and that makes me happy. Let me give you the low down on how things went. Yesterday was Cardio and Abs and like I said I decided to go ahead and up the intensity as a "punishment" to my body for wimping out on my Wednesday. When that was done I followed it up with some Yoga Abs just to really stick it to me. Here is how everything went, I went longer than I ever have in the DVD before having to pull up for a rep and when I did I only pulled up for three reps total in the entire hour. If I am totally honest with myself I could have pushed through and not pulled up at all. It was one of those time where you pull up for a second get right back into it then it stops and you are mad for stopping early. That is what happened both times so now that I know I can get through the entire DVD without stopping I am going to do just that. I figure I will go for the Bob Harper Cardio one more time next week since I am about to start 60 days of intense cardio workouts and it will be like a nice little warm up. The follow ab workout went well too by the time I was done with the both of them there was not a dry place on my shirt for me to wipe the sweat off so I will call that a win.
I followed that great workout up with Legs and Back today, I was a little worried about how the workout was going to when I went to bed last night because I totally expected for my legs to be crazy sore this morning but luck for me that was not the case. I was a little tender but it didn't affect my workout in any way. As a matter of fact I got another really good workout in, the only thing that was not as good as I would have liked it to be because on of my lunge rep numbers went down but that is ok. I got more pull ups done on every one of the exercises and even got to 11 chin ups on the first exercise. Now I know that I am going to be crazy sore tomorrow but that is OK because stretch is tomorrow and I will work the soreness out then.
Until next time

Got to throw away to plate this morning!
I know what you are thinking what the heck is he talking about? Let me tell you, today was chest, shoulders and Triceps and it was the last time I will be doing this workout for a few months. One of the exercises is chest flies. For those of you that may not know what this is, you get in a push up position and put a paper plate under your left hand. When you go down into your push up you slide the plate out to the left and when you come back up you slide the plate back so you are back to a normal plank position. You do this four times then you switch hands and do it again. Once I finished that exercise there was no need for the paper plate I have kept in the office since I started this round of P90X so I got to call it a day and throw the plate away. When I went to bed last night I made the comment that I really have to go after this workout today because I wanted to really bring it and see the numbers go up one last time before ending this workout. That did not happen, a few of the exercises the reps went up but most of them stayed the same and some of them even went down. I just felt like I didn't have all the energy that I normally have going into a workout today. Don't get me wrong it was still a good workout and I was covered in sweat when I was done but it didn't go the way I wanted it to. I really don't know if it was just an off day or if it had anything to do with running out of vitamins, or even that I have not had a Shakeology in the last few days. I am thinking it is mostly just an off day. I guess we will test that theory tomorrow on Cardio and Ab day. I will be doing Bob Harper Cardio and Abs so it is going to be a killer workout. The good thing is I am starting my work day close to home at 9 AM so I will be able to sleep a little bit longer than I normally would before stating the workout so that is a win. It is pretty awesome that I now have less than two weeks left in this round of P90X, so a week from Monday I will be taking my final fit test to see how far I have come in two rounds of it. I will be taking the next day off and going right into INSANITY which will lead me right up to my birthday and some time at the beach. I am really hoping to have that six pack by then but we will see. I am totally excited to do INSANITY, I have a guy that posts on my Team Beachbody thread that is crushing it right now and I want to see if I can get the same results has he dose. Keep an eye on the blog to see how that goes. By the way I am such a nerd I even have my fitness scheduled out all the way to May of next year. I will be doing INSANITY, followed by a week off, followed by P90X/INSANITY hybrid, then will take two weeks off in December. At the start of the new year it is time to start training for the county music marathon, then I figure I will need a little time off after that before deciding what to do next.

Almost a perfect 10
I didn't get to post yesterday because right as I finished the post my internet went down and it was not saved this morning so I have to start all over again. Yesterday was Legs and Back, I woke up early to get it done while my wife out shopping so that I could get it done while Haley was sleeping and before mowing the lawn before it got too hot. The workout went great and I could not be happier, my legs are still getting stronger even after doing this workout once a week for the last six months and I am thinking that when I do my next round of P90X I will need to pick up some heavier weights if I want to keep adding intensity to this routine. That was one thing that made the workout great yesterday, the other was I finally reached one of my goals when I got to the first back exercise, reverse grip chin ups I was able to do 10 of them before going to the chair. Since I started being able to add reps to each of the pull ups I have been working hard to get to that number 10 and now that I have done it on one workout I am going to continue to work to try and get to 10 unassisted pull ups on the other exercises. By the end of the day I was starting to feel with workout and mowing of the lawn in my legs but felt great when I went to bed. This morning I woke up nice and early and got my yoga done, I did Bob Harper Yoga and Bob Harper Abs and it is a good thing that I did because I started today in a good head space which is good since I have only been at work for 10 minutes and the client that ruined my weekend is working hard to ruin my week as well. I think I will be going on a run as soon as I can, either after I put Haley to bed or first thing in the morning but it seems taking the week off did not do me as much good as I would have liked it to in the way of getting rid of the stress it has been a busy few week and this week is not starting any differently. Anyway tomorrow is a rest day and I will be doing some kind of fitness something tomorrow to help release some of this aggression that I already have. Until next time.

Not quite as I planned it
So today didn't quite go the way I planned it and it all kind of started last night when I decided it would be best for me to take my one day to sleep in and actually do it. I figured that even though I had a pretty full day in front of me it would be OK to get my workout in (Stretch and Abs) after breakfast and a little time with the family. Enter client, I swear some clients of my just have a what can I do to give Justin a pain the the back side and they tried another idea so it was off to the client. Rather than get my workout in I ended up spending an hour on the road to and from an about an hour and a half at the client so by the time I got back it was already 10:45 and I had missed most of the morning with the family. On a happy note though my wife was able to get all her goals done while I was away and even got a workout in. When I got back I used the 20 minutes I had to get my Ab Ripper workout in then it was time to shower and get ready for a 4th birthday party. Luck for me the party ended in time for me to get home and get my X Stretch in so I didn't have to mess with my schedule at all which is good. If I missed stretch I was going to make it up on Tuesday but now I don't have to and that makes me happy because I am getting the itch to run again and figured I would try and use Tuesday to do it. I think I have almost worked to knot out of my right hamstring because I was able to reach to the floor during some of the stretches I could not before. I still can't get my forehead to my knee like I can on the left side by I am working on it. Tomorrow is Legs and Back followed HOT Yard Work X. I am thinking that I will wake up with my wife when she gets up to shop and get my workout in early so that I can have breakfast and get started on the lawn before it gets too hot. It might get up to 100 tomorrow so if I can get the yard done before than that would be great. One last thing I want to say and I will call it on this post. Yesterday my wife finished her 28 days of 10-Minute trainer and so far what we have seen the results have been amazing. I will not go into the numbers as I know she would not want me plastering that all over the Internet but they are amazing and to get them in only 28 days is even more incredible so I just wanted to tell her congrats and I am proud for her. Oops, one more last thing, I made my Shakeology today with Cinnamon almonds so it was like a nutty cinnamon chocolate shake and it was darn good. I am going to look around the house tomorrow and try and come up with other ideas to throw into the Shake tomorrow. Until next time.

Did you miss me?
I am sure you did since this is the longest I have gone without a post in a while but trust me it has been a crazy week. I didn't do anything in the way of fitness on Tuesday I decided to take my day off and I enjoyed it since the work day ended up being very busy. Wednesday was Chest and back and that went great, again I focused on getting more and more pull ups done without the chair and it worked out well for me I am almost at the 10 unassisted pull ups I have been shooting for and still have two and a half weeks to get there so I am confident it will happen. Thursday came and it was not quite as good, I woke up and was ready to do some Bob Harper Cardio and Abs but ended up falling back on Cardio X and Ab ripper X just because it was the first day back to school and I didn't want to wipe myself out before the day even started but I will totally be going Bob or Plyo next week. I still got a good workout and a good sweat but I was feeling like a lazy bum the rest of the day. Today was arms and shoulders and I upped the resistance on each of the workouts, it totally paid off because I felt great when I finished. I did lose reps on just about all the exercises but I knew I would due to the extra resistance. I am sure I will get back to the normal amount of reps for the last workout in a few weeks. Tomorrow is Ab Ripper X and Stretch X, I am going to set my alarm and get it done somewhat early because I have plenty on my plate tomorrow and if I don't get the workout out of the way I might not have time for everything and I don't want that.
I hope that next week gets back to normal and I can post more often again.
Until next time.

Back to the grind
Well after a great week off it was back in the saddle at working helping people with their IT problems but that is OK that is what I get paid to do. What makes it better is that I got to start the day with a little Yoga X to finish my 10th week of the program. Only three weeks to go and I am excited to say I finished the program again. Today yoga started out really good, I focused from the start on the breathing and poses and was glad really sticking them well but as the workout went on my mind started to wonder a little bit, I don't know if it had to do with the workout getting easy or if I was just getting ready to get back in the swing of things at work. I guess I will find out the next time I do yoga, which depending on what time I get to sleep tonight might be tomorrow before bible study. I figure I can rock out a quick Fountain of Youth yoga before going to shower. It seems that I still have all this energy each day and I am still going to thank Shakeology for that, I am telling you it seems pricey but it is worth it The way I see $3 dollars a serving is a lot cheaper than the doctor bills that will get racked up for getting old and out of shape but hey each their own. I also want to take a quick minute to say congrats to my wife who has been kicking 10-minute trainer's butt for the last three and a half weeks. She finishes her program on Friday and I could not be happier for her. I am actually a little jealous that she is finishing and can move on to something else if she so chooses. Well come back tomorrow to see if I did a double yoga, double yoga, on the mat.. Until next time

Totally feeling strong today
As you know today is Father's day so I did not wake up this morning to workout while Whitney was shopping, I decided to sleep in and wake up when Haley did. In the way of getting rest that decision turned out to be the right one. In the way of spending time with the family it did take away from that so I missed about an hour and a half with them while I was doing the workout. Once the workout was done we hung out around the house for a little while, had lunch, then we were off to watch a Nashville Sounds (Triple A baseball) game. We had a great time and the Sounds won so all in all you could not ask for anything more than that. Anyway, todays workout was P90X back and biceps. This is a workout that I end up looking forward to each week and am a little bit sad that I only have one more left before the end of the program this time through. When I was doing the workout I was using more weights on all the bicep exercises and the back exercises that used bands. I thought for sure that this would end up costing me some reps and it did on the biceps and the back exercises where I used bands, but I would expect that. What I didn't expect was going nuts on the pull ups. Not only did I get more reps on each of the exercises but I was getting two or three more unassisted reps on just about every single one so I was feeling great at the end of the workout. Looking back on what makes me thing could have caused that I have to give it to my week long Shakeology experiment. I call it that because it is the only time I have taken a shake pretty much every day this week, so I suppose that it has a lot to do with getting the right nutrition in my body from the drinks. I really recommend that everyone give it a shot, it is a bit expensive but I totally think it is worth it. Another great thing that happened this week was I got my first order from a customer since being a Team Beachbody Coach so in the way of fitness and relaxing this was a perfect week, the only thing that made it better was spending the entire time with family and not being bothered all that much by clients and others that do all they can to make sure I don't get a day off. This week I get to go back to work and the next set of classes start but I am going into a week after a Monday morning Yoga X so it will be a good week. Until next time.

Legs and back done
Today was legs and back and I got it done about mid morning to get it out of the way and have the rest of the day to spend with family. I am glad I did it when I did, it has been a very hot day today and it is just getting hotter and hotter so getting the workout done before the heat really set in was a good idea. One thing that I did that was new today was I had Shakeology as my mid-morning snack about 30 minutes or so before my workout and it really seemed to help give me extra energy. I am not going to lie the workout didn't go as well as I would have liked it to but that is OK. I started off a little slow and didn't get as many reps on the very first exercise as I had in the past but I chalk that up to my legs being a little tender after the Bob Harper beat down yesterday. Once I got through that first exercise things started to fall in line and I was able to get the correct number of reps through out the rest of the workout. Another thing that didn't quite go the way I wanted it to was the pull ups. I didn't lose any reps on any of the exercises but only one or two of them had more unassisted pull ups and most of them both the assisted and unassisted numbers stayed the same. I guess that just means that I am going to have to really bring it on Sunday when I to back and biceps. I would like to see some numbers go up there. I am also thinking that I was planning on upping the resistance for this next one but don't remember for sure. I guess I will have to take a look at my workout worksheets to find out. After today I only have 3.5 weeks to go and I am excited about it and look forward to deciding what is next in my fitness "see my six pack by my birthday" journey. I felt really good when I was done with the workout yesterday and felt pretty good when I finished today as well. Now I just need to relax and enjoy time with the family as my vacation is coming to an end :-(.

It is a win, GO ME!!!!!!
Ok, well I woke up this morning and it did not get off to a good start, I went to bed a little hungry so when I woke up in the morning I was a little shaky so I decided to wait and get some food in me before doing my workout. I ended up getting my workout in after I took my daughter to a movie and spend some time out of the house with her and my wife. Once it was time to get into the workout it was cardio and abs today. I decided to ramp up the intensity and go with Bob Harper Ultimate Cardio Body and then moved on to yoga abs. This was the first time I have gone after this combo in a few weeks and the last time I tried it, it did not work in my favor. Today was different, I was determined to get one under my belt and that is exactly what I did. I still had to pull up a few times during the cardio workout but they were not nearly as long this time and it was not as often either. When I was done my shirt was totally covered in sweat and I was pretty tired which means I was totally ready for yoga abs :-). Yep, yoga abs was hard today but unlike last time I was able to finish it, trust me it got ugly in the way of form but I got through it and my abs were on fire pretty much from the 4th minute in. My wife was in the room with me so she got to hear my grunt and moan like a little girl as I got to the end but hey I did it and that is all that matters. I also finally got the chance to try the Shakeology I wanted to, I ended up using about 9 oz. of black coffee, a little bit of water, some ice and a scoop of chocolate and blended it up. It was really good and I enjoyed every bit of it. My wife on the other hand was not as big a fan but that is because she does not care for things that are really chocolaty and Shakeology is. That works out great for me because I love super chocolaty things. Well tomorrow is legs and back and after my wife commented on the distinct V shape she can see in my back I am totally pumped to go after it. I know it is going to be a hard workout because I am going to be upping the resistance this time an I am sure my legs will be a little tender after the cardio workout today. I only have about 3.5 weeks left so I am going to really go after every workout to the end and get those results I am wanting. Check back tomorrow to see how the workout goes with the higher resistance. I am also shooting for the double digit unassisted pull up at some point in the workout as well.

Start of a new week
Well today was the start of week 10 which means there are only three more to go after this one. I did learn one thing today and that is it does not look like I will be upping the resistance again before the end of the program but that is OK, I just upped it at the last time through. Today was P90X Chest, Shoulders, and Triceps and now that it is done I only get to do this workout one more time before I finish the program. Let me start by saying that the first time I did this workout I called it the devil workout and continued to do so each time after that but now that I have gotten the hang of it I don't dread it like I used to. Today was a really good workout, I was covered in sweat from head to toe but every number I produced went up with the acception of three of the last four exercises. All of those stayed the same but I am OK with that since I was totally spent at the end of the workout and to me a matching number is just like a higher number since the total reps for the workout went up. I know I said it yesterday but I am going to say it again, tomorrow is Cardio and Abs so rather than doing Cardio X and Ab Ripper X I am going to go all Bob Harper. I am also taking my daughter to the movies tomorrow so I am going to get up around 6:30 or so to get it done but I will get it done I tell you. I am determined to get through both workouts this time. If I do next week will be Plyo and Ab ripper X but if I don't then I guess it will be another run at Bob until I get that first point. My nutrition is a little off today, not so much because I have been eating badly or anything like that just that I didn't get my mid morning snack and my afternoon hazelnet mocha Shakeology is going to come a little later in the afternoon if at all, that will totally depend on my daughters nap and when she wakes up. Another good thing that is happening is I am getting a little traction on my teambeachbody.com motivation thread that can be found here I have almost 900 views and close to 60 posts. It also seems like more and more people are finding it and joining it. Once this thread comes to an end I am confident that my next one will start off with a bigger head of steam and really start to push. I am getting excited because if things continue like this I may have more time to spend at home and that would be awesome!! Even if you are not using a Beachbody program yet, I encourage you to sign up for a teambeachbody.com account it gives you access to a community of fitness minded folks, wealths of information on programs like Insanity, P90X, and 10 Minute Trainer and if you sign up for a Club Beachbody account rather than a free account it costs less than one Starbucks coffee a week and gives you 10 % off all your Beachbody orders access to free meal planners, video chats with trainers like Tony Horton and Shawn T, and free workouts that free members don't have access to. Feeling like the tin man
Today has been a great day, I got to spend the day at Cheekwood with the family and some friends we had a great time looking at all the tree houses at the exhibit and I am sure we will be going again before it is over. Today was also a rest day but as the day progressed I was getting more and more sore and stiff in my lower body, it seems that it is taking two days after Legs and Back for the soreness to really set it. I am sure a walked around 2 miles or so by the time the day was done and I was ready to sit down when I left. When we got home we put Haley to bed but she didn't sleep, I went ahead and used the time she was up stairs to work on the soreness and stiffness and put in my new P90X One-on-One Fountain of Youth Yoga DVD again. When I first started it was giving me a little trouble due to the soreness in my legs and I was having a little trouble with keeping good form but as I moved on it got much better. By the time I was done with the DVD I was feeling like I worked out all the soreness and stiffness but as I sit here and type this it is creeping back, I see myself sleeping with the heated blanket on tonight to help with that. I didn't get to have another Shakeology today because we got home in just enough time to put Haley to bed and I didn't want to wake her up by firing off the blender. I am shooting for having a shake tomorrow and trying it blended with ice and coffee like I wanted to yesterday. I didn't get to blend it with ice yesterday because Haley didn't wake up in time so I just made it in a shaker but if that shake was any indication of what one blended with ice is going to taste like I am really hoping to be able to do it tomorrow. Speaking of, tomorrow is Chest, Shoulders, and Tris and it is the second to last time I get to do that workout so I am going to try and really push it tomorrow so that I can move the resistance up one more time before the end of this round of the program. Wish me luck on that and here is hoping that my legs start to calm down before Bob Thursday where I plan on going after Bob Harper Cardio and Bob Harper Abs again but this time I will win the battle I tell you. Justin 1 Bob 2 after Thursday's workout!

Yoga Monday
I love me some Yoga Monday, today was an even better than normal yoga Monday for a could of reasons. The first reason being that I was able to do it at a normal hour rather than 4:30 in the morning so that is a win. The second and most important reason is because I got to do yoga with my wife. I decided that I would do the Bob Harper yoga today along with yoga abs after the fact. It was a really good workout, while my wife and I were going through the DVD our daughter was watching us and even doing some of the moves along with us as best she could. That makes me very happy to have her watching us, I feel it is very important that she knows mommy and daddy work very hard to stay in shape and be healthy. Too many parents have fallen into the same bad habits as the rest of the county and give the same horrible food to their kids and it just isn't fair to them. Our children are too young to be making choices on nutrition for themselves so it is up to us as the parents to do it for them. Problem is if we are making the wrong choices for ourselves you know we are doing the same thing to our children so really for those of you with children think about what your kids are watching you do and eat and then think about how you feel about yourself and your fitness level then finally think about the message you are passing to your children just by your actions. Remember it is not just what we say to our kids it is what we do and what we show them. I personally don't want my kid struggling with weight and health issues due to bad choices that I made and I would hope you don't either. Ok, time to get off the soap box, tomorrow is a rest day and we are going to spend some time with friends since I still don't have to work. I may wake up a little early and go on a short run before bible study but I don't know that for sure yet. Wednesday starts Week 9 of this second round through P90X with only four weeks to go. I am going to try and bring up the resistance one last time and really push it to the end.

Thought I was going to lose it today
Just like yesterday today has been a really good day, I was able to sleep in because my daughter slept in and I was still able to get a good workout in. Today was P90X Legs and Back. I went into this workout knowing I was going to push as hard as I could and try and get those pull up numbers going up again. I am happy to say that is exactly what happened. As a matter of fact the first set of pull ups, reverse grip chin ups, I got to 9 unassisted without having to go to the chair. With the exception of one set all of my total pull ups went up as well so it was a great workout. Another cool think was that it was not just the first pull up exercise that I got more unassisted reps on it was all of them. At the end that did cost me a little bit because although I was still getting more unassisted reps my total number of reps took a hit by the end. Again I am ok with it since my other reps went up so much. I am also on the fence if I want to add more resistance to some of the exercises. I think I could get away with it since I am getting all the reps in at the resistance level that I am using now and if I keep going after this workout like I did today then I might vomit if I push harder. When I finished the workout today I was totally spent and just had to take a minute to gather myself before going into the kitchen and having my supplements and going to shower. Not to mention I was also covered from head to toe in sweat. Tomorrow is the end of week 9 and I will only have 4 weeks to go. I am excited about tomorrow because it is yoga Monday and I love me some yoga Monday. What is even more exciting about it is that my wife offered to do it with me so we are going to rock some Bob Harper yoga tomorrow and I can't wait. I am also looking forward to snack time today, I am going to be having a Shakeology chocolate shake, I am going to be making it with ice and some peanut butter and I am excited to see what it is going to taste like. I have had it with just the powder and water and it is thick and tastes good as well as keeps me full for hours so I am guessing this is going to be even better. It is not an inexpensive meal replacement shake but from what I have had of it so far it is worth it. I guess it just depends on how you look at it. Most people use it as a replacement for a full meal such as lunch and you are not going to go out for lunch on a work day for 4 dollars and get as healthy a meal as Shakeology gives you.
Tip: When working out, don't worry about the people around you the only person you are trying to impress is yourself, and the only person you are competing against is the voice in your head saying you can't do it.

You could fold me in half
Man what a good day it has been today, the only thing that would have made it better would have been to have more time with my wife but she was at an out of town wedding but is on the way home now! So here is how my day went, I woke up sooner than I really wanted to because Haley was making noise but went back to bed. I was not able to fall back asleep so I decided that I would go ahead and use the time to check out my new P90X One-on-One fountain of youth yoga DVD I got when I got my wife's copy of 10 Minute Trainer. Let me tell you something it was like Yoga X mini a really good yoga workout and it was only 45 minutes rather than the 90 minutes of Yoga X. It has a lot of the same poses yoga x does but it also has some new poses. Tony assumes that people doing the DVD have done yoga x so he spends less time explaining the poses and switches between them more often. The new poses were good and really made my tight hamstrings loosen up! That really set the tone for my X Stretch and ab ripper x today. I was able to add the weights and hands in the air like I normally do with Ab Ripper X and when it came to stretching I was getting a little further each time and felt all kinds of limber when I was done. I feel relaxed and in a really good head state after all the breathing and flexing and now I am so pumped and excited for my wife to get home I can hardly stand it. Tomorrow is legs and back and if I can carry this momentum into the workout tomorrow I am going to crush it and really get results. Today was day 60 of this second round of P90X so I guess you can say I am doing P150X. I have my sights set on insanity next and am working on a way of getting legally without having to pay for it (borrowing it). If not I guess I will get my Bob Harper on for a little while but I just want to say it again, I am having great day and can't wait for my wife to get home so I can spend the rest of it with her!!!!
Until tomorrow.
Until tomorrow.

Not so much, but then again.....
So I didn't get to post anything yesterday because I found myself doing some training and other things at work that made me lose track of time so today you get a double shot. Let me start by talking about yesterday, I woke up and decided to go with Cardio X and Ab Ripper X rather than Bob Harper DVDs and I am sure that I made the right choice. Yesterday was one of those days where I woke up with no energy what so ever and it didn't get any better, I really had to work hard just to make it through the two DVDs. I don't know what it was that happened but everything seemed to take more effort this time around and for the fist time since starting Ab Ripper X it seemed almost impossible, I didn't do my normal weights in my hand or anything like that and although I was able to do all the reps it was took more out of me than it has the past few times I did it. I was thinking about Cardio day next week and I will be doing Cardio X again but this time with Bob Harper Abs. I learned from last week that Bob Harper cardio makes the day after legs and back very difficult but who knows since I am on vacation and won't have to wake up first thing in the morning to do it I may go with the Bob Video.
This morning was arms and shoulders and I woke up feeling much better than I did yesterday, I still hit the snooze button once but after I got up I was ready to go. I went after it like a fat dude at a china buffet and in the end all my numbers went up, enough of them went up so much that I will be adding to the resistance when I do the workout again in a few weeks. It felt great and put me in a really good mood and got me ready to start the day so it can end and I can have my first Saturday off in three months AND start a week long vacation from both jobs! Man I can't wait, I am going to sleep, workout, swim, run, spend time with family, go to the movies, you name it I am going for it. I am very excited.
I also have two last big pieces of news that I wanted to share, first one is I found a full marathon training program that I like and even comes with a phone app (that I need an iPhone or and Android phone to use) and a schedule that fits really nicely into letting me train for a full marathon and run the Tom King classic again as part of the training so I am going to do it and will be starting on on January 7th which means I am all in for the country music marathon when it comes about next year. This will give me the rest of the year to do whatever other workouts and muscle building I want to do to get in better shape and then focus on getting the running going.

Second piece of news is I finally pulled the trigger and signed up to be a Team BeachBody coach. I didn't do it to try and push thing I don't believe in on anyone I did it because I truly think that BeachBody has a great line of products for all fitness levels to help people get in shape, doing P90X has gotten me in the best shape I have ever been in and if I can help others get into better shape but helping them select a plan that is right for their fitness level and will get them results I want to do it. If you want to check out my page you can. pardon the font change I did something wrong and can't figure out how to bring it back. anyway the site is here
My BeachBody Site come check it out.
OK really long post so I am going to call it.

Much better thank you!
Didn't post yesterday because it was my Tuesday rest day. I set the alarm nice and early yesterday because I really wanted to run but and blow off a little steam but it was raining in the morning so no run. My wife was very supportive though and let me go out for a run after I put Haley down for bed. I remembered one thing yesterday and learned another while I was doing two laps around the neighborhood which turns out to be right about 3.5 miles. The thing remembered was how much better I feel during and after the run, it was nice even for only about 30 minutes to shut off the rest of the world around me and just focus on the strides and distance I was running. What I learned was that I need to get my running legs back, when I was running more I could bang out 5 miles without a problem and I could have gone a bit longer yesterday but I wanted to get in the house and this morning shins and left hip are a little tender. I really need to find the time to work on my running again so I totally see myself doing a little more running the week I am not working either job.
This morning was Chest and Back and I was ready for it. I wanted to really focus on rep count and work on progressing a little more and that is exactly what happened. Pretty much all of my push reps went up, and all of my pull up reps went up with AND I was able to get more reps done without going to the chair for help so I am really confident I will get to the goal of 10 unassisted pull ups when I am done with this round of P90X. As a matter of fact I am on the tail end of it now, today was day one of week nine so I only have a little over 5 weeks left. I am even going to be adding to the resistance of the back exercises that are not pull ups the next time I do this workout and a few weeks. Tomorrow is cardio and abs again and I am wondering if I am going to go after the Bob Harper cardio again and see if I can get through it or if I am going to go cardio x. My leaning is for the Bob video but we will see how I feel in the morning. If I go Bob I am running the full Bob gambit, Ultimate Cardio Body followed by Yoga Abs. Only this time I am going to be finishing the abs. I guess we will just have to see how it goes. Off to work now, I am in a much better mood than I have been in a little while and feel much more relaxed (thank you run) so today is going to be a good day. Just wish I didn't have to go in ITT for a manditory (yet unpaid) meeting. Until tomorrow.

End of week 8
Today was the end of week and and finished/started with yoga x. As always it was a good workout, my balance is starting to come back after taking a hit when we put the mats down so that made me happy. The only thing I would have changed is the fact that I had a hard time clearing my mind in the beginning of the workout but I finally got to feeling good and focusing on the moves. Like last time this happened I am just going to have to keep today in mind during my next round so that I get in the moment sooner and stay in the moment longer. I have had all kinds of energy today which is good and I can't really explain where it came from, you figure a guy that has been awake since 4:15 would be a bit tired but I'm not really all that tired at all. Like I said at some point tomorrow I am going for a run, I am noticing that my temper is getting a little short both in work and in life so a run should help me get past that. I am just a little worried about it since my ankle is a little swollen but having it wrapped has helped it out quite a bit and it is already feeling better. In case I have not mentioned it I have a new Yoga DVD it is P90X one-on-one fountain of youth yoga disk. It is only 40 minutes so I am going to try and find a time to fit it into what I am doing now, Since it is shorter I am afraid to swap it for a yoga day because I don't want to feel like I cheated myself on a workout. Perhaps I will check it out tomorrow night after I put Haley to bed. I guess I will figure it out and let you know.

Brought it some more today
Today was back and biceps, a workout I normally always look forward to, the only part that was pretty hard was the warm up because my legs have been sore since Friday morning but since it is less than three minutes I was able to get through it. Like the rest of the workouts with pull ups involved I really tried to focus on doing more pull ups without the help of the chair and it really paid off again. I was able to get about 5 additional pull ups total in the workout without the chair and the total number of pull ups went up for the workout. I don't know where this new focus on pull ups has come from but I am glad it is paying off. In case I didn't mention it before I am shooting for being able to to 10 unassisted pull ups by the time the program is over. I am pretty confident I can get there because I am already at 7 and still have 5 weeks to go each with two workouts that work the back. Tomorrow is Yoga X and I can't wait it is also the last week before I take a week off of both jobs and just relax, and trust me I need it. This Tuesday come hell or high water I am going to go on some kind of a run either before bible study or after I put Haley to bed but either way it is going to happen. I have been pretty stressed lately because of work and running always makes me feel better and I am guessing since I have not gone on a run in about two weeks it is adding to my stress level. Who know I might even run with the runners group that meets here in Spring Hill on my vacation week. It will be fun to run somewhere other than my neighborhood and with others rather than on my own. Also, I found a 5K next month that is going on not too far from here that I might also sign up for in order to get me running again. Thursday is round three with Bob Harper and this time I am going to win the battle I don't care what it takes. I don't have legs and back the day after so I can really go after it and deal with the soreness since my workout on Friday is Shoulders and Arms. I am sure the combination of the two workouts is going to cause my entire body to be feeling it Friday morning but I don't care I am determined to get through the workout before I end this round of P90X. Well keep an eye on the next few days to see how it goes. I have another pull up workout coming on Wednesday so I am going to continue working on the pull up numbers until I get to 10 and beyond.

Sore, Sore, and More Sore
Well I am four days into my first resistance week back from recovery week and let me tell you I am felling it. I decided I was going to up resistances and really push myself the last 6 weeks of this round and if the soreness is any indication I getting exactly what I asked for. I didn't post yesterday because t my normal post time I had not yet done my workout. When my alarm went off I wet to get out of bed and I had a strange pain in my knee and right hamstring so I decided I would give my legs the day to keep resting and get the workout done at night. I am not a fan of doing the workouts at night but it is better than not doing them at all. Before I get into how legs and back went I figured I should tell you about the "Day after Bob" As you know I really tried to bring it through the entire DVD and not stop at all this time around. It started off well and I didn't pull up as much but it did cost me at the end of the workout because I was drained and didn't make it through my abs workout, but some was better than none. My legs were sore all day from the amount of effort I put into trying to get through the workout and I knew it was going to make Legs and Back a challenge. That being said, after I put my daughter to bed it was off to the office for my workout. I was a little timid at first because it is a hard enough workout on its own but add the fact that my legs were all kinds of sore going it to it really had me worried. I was certain that all my leg rep numbers were going to go down and even spend the day wondering how I could change my schedule to give myself the day off and rest. In the end with a little help from my wife I decided to suck it up and be a man and get the workout done. I was surprised that even with the soreness from the day before my rep numbers on my leg exercises didn't suffer as a matter of fact some of them went up. I am not going to lie the wall squats were killer this time but I even did those without having to come up. My back exercises went just as well. I was able to do the same number of unassisted pull ups on most of the exercises and even did more on some of them. There were one or two were my unassisted number went but the total number went up. I am guessing it was because of the extra unassisted pull ups leading up to the last few exercises. All in all a good workout and today was on to X Stretch and Abs. I was sore this morning but the stretching helped out a bit. The stretching stopped the soreness for a little bit but it is starting to come back now. No big deal, I would rather have the soreness on a stretch day than on a workout day. Tomorrow is Back and Biceps and I am going to bring it on that one as well. I want to see more numbers go so that I can start to thing about moving the resistance up one more time before the end of the program. Once done (about 5.5 weeks to go, I am going to rock some major hi intensity cardio and try to burn off the last 4 % body fat I trying to lose before I hit my under 10% goal. I hope I can get there. Until next time.
