Big day tomorrow, new goal for Tuesday
Today is a big day, I get to start the week with an upper body workout where I am adding more weight to a bunch of the exercises so I am sure it will be a hard one. I don't care if I don't get to the full number of reps on the high points and the weights leading up to them, the point of tomorrow is to begin the journey of getting more weight done. I am on the home stretch starting week 9 tomorrow with only a few weeks to go. I hope to move the weights up one more time before the end of week 12 so that I can really see some results and see if I can't get that body fat percentage number down a little bit more before I am done and go into Christmas. This week I will be taking my free day on Friday because it is my 5 year anniversary and we have dinner plans that are not going to fit into the body for life plan. That is going to make Saturday a bit harder because I have to try and plan my six meals and workout around church and family, but it will be worth it. So we now know that the added weight I am going to be using tomorrow is what is going to make it a big day now lets talk about the new goal for Tuesday. Today I Went to the rec center to run since it was cold and rainy and there was no way I was running in that. The last time I ran on a treadmill I went 3.1 miles at 7 miles an hour and set a goal that I would make it to 3.25 miles at 7 MPH before stopping. I didn't go for that goal yesterday since I was running and doing a lower body workout so I went for that today and made it. The good part was that I made it the 3.25 miles before slowing down the bad part was I was really wanting to slow down with about a mile of that distance left but I push myself through it. So that brings me to Tuesday's goal, today It took me about 27 and a half minutes to run the 3.25 miles then I walked at 4 mph until I made it to 30 minutes to act as a short cool down before heading home. Tuesday I am going to shoot for running 7 MPH the full 30 minutes which should get to to 3.5 miles in that time as well. If I can make that time then I will shoot for 3.6 miles at 7 miles an hour etc, and continue to push the distance at 7 MPH before I start all over again by running a 5 K at 7.5 miles an hour and pushing forward until I can get to 40 minutes. I figure that is the best way to train for both pace and distance while in the winter months then see just how far and fast I can go when the weather gets back to where running outside becomes an option again. Keep an eye out tomorrow to see how the workout goes and Tuesday to see if I was able to go the full 30 minutes at 7 MPH.
