Nice surprise today
ChiRunning: A Revolutionary Approach to Effortless, Injury-Free Running
So today was a nice surprise, I tried to go out and run 3.5 miles (7 laps) this morning. I was pretty excited to do it now that I have my cool new runkeeper app. Well I was a little deflated when I could not get it to get a GPS signal so I didn't use it. What I ended up doing was taking a look at the time and starting my run and taking a look at the time when I finished. Well I did my six laps and got about a 1/4 through my 7th before I had to stop. It took me 36 minutes to do it. I was a little unhappy when I saw that because my mile time went above 10 minutes or so I thought! As it turns out my neighborhood lap is close to .6 miles than it is .5 so when I manally entered my route (giant pain in the ass) it said that I went almost 4 miles. I didn't think that was right so I decided that I would confirm that by driving it in my car and it turns out that it was right. Now I'm totally excited because the 5K should be nothing for me as I am shooting to get to a 10K before the end of October when I am doing the race for the cure. If anyone out there (and I mean 1 because that is how may views I got yesterday) knows of any whys to train and add distance I would love to hear it. Right now I am just pushing myself each run to go a little further than the last.
